We have been getting a number of enquiries about leasing the farm and it seems a good idea to make some things clear about visits to the farm.
The dates of the Open Days are in the Information Pack.
The Open Days are not open to the general public, but only if you have contacted us first and we have invited you.
There are some conditions about Open Days in the Information Pack.
Visitors coming to the farm on different days may be turned away.
Those who don’t take any notice of what we say, will be eliminated.
Please don’t ring me during Monty Don’s new programme “My Dream Farm,” which starts on Thursday!
Monty Don says interesting things, including (The Observer, 2 Oct. 2005) highlighting the potential use of bracken for compost. Bracken is not something we are short of!
High Leas is up for letting, so is it your Dream Farm? The people we need can be dreamers, by all means, but that can’t be all!
We have decided to advertise the farm to let. This is a rare opportunity to lease an entire farm in a superb location with outstanding views over the derwent valley. If you are looking for a farm to rent then please have a look at our info pack.
The info pack contains details of our open days. If you would like to contact us to register your interest and arrange to attend one of the open days, please do so – these are not open to the general public but only by invitation, to those who have registered prior interest.

We have had some very interesting discussions recently with some local people about setting up a CSA scheme but the real problem is that if only one family is allowed to live here then presumably it has to be another family (not us) and so we are now planning to look for a tenant.
So this doesn’t go Beyond Farming at all – just yet – and what we have to hope for is that we find a tenant who likes the sound of our plans in the medium term.
If you are looking for a farm to rent please come back in the near future as I intend to put more on about letting.
